Sound Like Daily Life for You?

Missing teeth affect more than just your smile. They change how you eat, speak, and feel about yourself every single day. The good news is, modern dentures can give back what you’ve lost.
  • Avoiding foods you used to love
  • Hiding your smile in photos
  • Sore gums from worn-out teeth
  • Skipping social gatherings entirely
  • Watching your face look older faster
  • Struggling to enjoy simple meals
  • If any of this sounds like your daily reality, we want you to know real change is closer than you think.

    What Waiting Really Costs You

  • Bone Loss Accelerates

Your jawbone shrinks faster the longer teeth stay missing, changing your facial structure over time.

  • Treatment Gets More Involved

Advanced bone loss may require grafting procedures before you can receive certain denture options.

  • Daily Frustrations Pile Up

Each missed meal, avoided photo, and skipped event adds to years of compromise you can't get back.

  • Months Slip Away Quickly

Every month without proper teeth means more memories made while feeling self-conscious and limited.

  • Self-Consciousness Deepens

The longer you hide your smile, the harder it becomes to feel comfortable showing it again.

  • Fewer Choices Remain Later

Advanced tissue and bone changes can limit which denture solutions will work best for your situation.

  • Acting sooner means a simpler path to comfortable, natural-looking teeth.

How Modern Dentures Restore Your Smile

Dentures are custom-made replacement teeth that fill the gap left by missing teeth. A full set replaces all teeth in an upper or lower arch, while partial dentures fill in specific gaps when natural teeth remain. Built on a gum-colored base with lifelike artificial teeth, they restore both function and appearance.

Every set of dentures at Borderview Family Dental begins with digital scans and detailed impressions, ensuring each fits your mouth precisely. Our approach to dentures in Blaine combines modern materials with careful planning, so the final result looks natural and feels comfortable from day one.

  • Available as full, partial, or implant-supported sets
  • Custom-crafted using digital impressions and scans
  • Made from durable acrylic with lifelike artificial teeth
  • Transformations That Last

Watch real patients share how their dental journey restored not just their smiles, but their quality of life. These personal stories capture the relief and joy that come with comprehensive, caring treatment.

    Are Dentures Right for You?

Many people ask whether dentures are the right choice for their situation. The truth is, dentures suit a wider range of patients than most people realize. Whether you’ve lost teeth recently or have been managing without them for years, options exist that can work for you.
  • Have lost several or all teeth in one or both arches
  • Are tired of struggling with loose or ill-fitting older dentures
  • Want an affordable, non-surgical solution for replacing missing teeth
  • Were told you weren't a candidate for dental implants
  • Hope to eat, speak, and smile without daily worry
  • Not Sure If Dentures Fit?

Wondering whether dentures are the right path for your unique situation is a normal question. A consultation gives you clear answers and a personalized recommendation built around your specific needs and goals.

What to Expect During Your Denture Process

Our patients often tell us they felt nervous before starting, and surprisingly relaxed once they understood each step. We’ve designed the entire process around your comfort, with no rushed visits or confusing terminology.
    1

    Consultation and Planning

Your first visit is all about understanding your goals and current oral health. We examine your gums, remaining teeth, and bone structure to determine which denture option fits best. You'll review the timeline together and discuss what daily life with dentures looks like, so you feel informed before any decisions are made.

    2

    Preparation and Impressions

If extractions are needed, we plan them with your comfort in mind, using local anesthetic for a smooth experience. We then take precise digital impressions of your mouth, capturing every detail. These scans go directly to our trusted dental lab, where your custom dentures are crafted with care.

    3

    Fitting and Adjustments

When your dentures are ready, you'll come in for placement. We carefully position them, check your bite, and make detailed adjustments so they feel natural in your mouth. You'll practice speaking and biting, and we'll fine-tune anything that feels off before you leave with your new smile.

    4

    Follow-Up Care

In the weeks following placement, small adjustments are common as your gums settle. We schedule follow-up visits to ensure your dentures continue fitting comfortably and looking their best. Our team stays available for questions, refinements, and ongoing support whenever you need us.

What Adjustment Looks Like After Dentures

Most patients are surprised by how quickly they adjust to wearing dentures. We guide you through every step of the transition, making sure adjustments feel supported and your dentures keep fitting comfortably.

    First 24-48 Hours

Your mouth may feel fuller than usual, and your tongue needs a moment to adjust to its new neighbor. Mild gum tenderness is normal, especially if extractions were part of treatment. Stick to soft foods, sip water often, and rest as your mouth gets used to the change.

    First Week

Eating and speaking gradually feel more natural as your muscles adapt. Some minor sore spots may develop, which we address quickly with small adjustments. Most patients find that by the end of the week, they're managing daily routines comfortably and feeling more confident with each meal.

Every patient adjusts at their own pace, and we plan your aftercare accordingly. You’ll receive clear, written guidance for at-home care, along with direct access to our team whenever a question comes up.

    Common Questions About Dentures

Choosing dentures comes with plenty of questions, and that’s a good thing. We want you to feel fully informed before making any decision. Below are answers to the questions our patients ask most often when considering dentures in Blaine.

    How long do dentures last?

With proper care, dentures typically last 5 to 10 years before needing replacement or relining. Your jawbone and gums change shape over time, which affects fit. Regular checkups help us catch wear and adjust your dentures so they continue feeling comfortable.
Modern dentures look remarkably lifelike. Custom shading on both the gum base and individual teeth creates a natural appearance that most people won’t notice as artificial. We work closely with you to choose the shape, size, and color that complement your face beautifully.
The timeline varies based on whether extractions are needed first. Conventional dentures typically take 8 to 12 weeks from start to finish, allowing your gums to heal before final fitting. Immediate dentures can be placed the same day as extractions for uninterrupted smiles.
Eating with dentures takes a short adjustment period. Most patients start with softer foods for the first week or two, gradually returning to favorites. After your mouth adjusts, you’ll be able to enjoy most foods, though very sticky or hard items remain best avoided.
Well-fitted dentures shouldn’t cause ongoing pain. Some initial soreness is normal as your mouth adjusts, similar to breaking in new shoes. If discomfort lasts beyond a few weeks or develops later, an adjustment usually solves it quickly. We follow up to catch issues early.
Full dentures replace every tooth in an upper or lower arch when no natural teeth remain. Partial dentures fill specific gaps when you still have some healthy teeth. The remaining teeth provide anchors for the partial denture’s removable framework, keeping it stable during use.
Daily cleaning keeps your dentures fresh and helps them last longer. Remove them, brush with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive cleaner, then soak overnight in a denture solution. Rinse thoroughly before placing them back in your mouth each morning.
Traditional dentures rely on suction and sometimes adhesive to stay secure. With a proper fit, slipping is uncommon during normal daily activities. For added stability, implant-supported dentures snap onto small posts placed in your jaw, eliminating movement entirely and providing real peace of mind.
Some patients notice a brief adjustment period with certain sounds, especially S’s and F’s. Practicing by reading aloud helps your tongue and lips adapt quickly. Within a few weeks, most people speak naturally again without thinking about their dentures at all.
Your gums and jawbone naturally change shape over the years, which can affect denture fit. When that happens, a reline reshapes the inside of your dentures to match your current contours. In some cases, a new set provides a fresher start.

By far the best Dentist I have been to in my 30 years of life. The office staff are very nice, pleasant to talk to, and professional. They know their stuff! The office is very clean and relaxing. And I’m serious, everyone is so nice and personable. They let you watch a show on Netflix while they fix your chompers. Last but definitely not least, they do great work and are very thorough and caring throughout the process. What more could you want? Me, my wife, and my 3 year old go here for our dental appointments and will continue to go here for as long as we live in the area. Absolutely recommend this dental office.

Friendly front desk greetings! And, Dental Assistant Melissa, walked me to “The Chair”! She explained stuff with a clever and natural sense of humor. I laughed a lot…something I don’t do at the Dentist office! It was calming and I appreciate being included. Melissa owns a contagious sense of humor which translates into patient-at-ease! Dr Mandy and Melissa were in sync, with proficiency I recognized as ‘Teamwork’. The procedure was executed well and on time. An enjoyable Dental experience for me. How often do you hear “ENJOY” and “DENTAL” in the same sentence? Thank you! Jan W.

A Dental Diary Part 1: March 10, 2026 A Jewel in Blaine: The Right Dental Team at Borderview Family Dental I had an amazing experience at Borderview Family Dental. Dr. Gagan Sandhu and his team are all fantastic. At the front desk, Daryna welcomed me and made filling out the patient forms very easy with their high-tech iPad setup. Viktoriya then walked me through everything financially, clearly explaining it all. Dr. Sandhu himself was extremely professional, carefully explaining my future dental needs and answering all my questions. Kirsten was also great with my X-rays. In general, I have a bad gag reflex, but she made me feel as comfortable as possible. Thank you, Kirsten! :) Even the room itself was wonderful, with a huge window showing a beautiful green forest view, no need for TV or other entertainment! Blaine is a small community, so having a dental team like this is a real jewel. Kudos to the Dental Team at Borderview Family Dental! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent dental care. Part 2: April 21, 2026 Technology, Teamwork, and a Surprisingly Comfortable Crown Procedure Today, I had my second dentist appointment. As I had expected, I was greeted by Viktoriya, and after only a few minutes’ delay, Melissa, the dental assistant, welcomed me and took me to the treatment room. It was a busy morning at the clinic, but everything still moved along smoothly. Soon, Dr. Sandhu joined us, completing the patient-dentist-assistant triangle. The dental crown procedure on a major molar turned out to be surprisingly comfortable. Thanks to Dr. Sandhu and Melissa, along with the help of an Isolite retractor, I, as someone with a highly sensitive gag reflex, was able to go through the entire procedure without any gagging whatsoever. It was the first time I had ever experienced the use of an Isolite retractor, and I found it remarkable. I asked Dr. Sandhu whether it was a new invention or device. He told me that it had actually been around for quite a few years. That made me wonder why, after all these years, this was the first time I had seen it used. His response was that the reason may simply be the cost of the device. The entire procedure was efficient and impressively well coordinated. Thanks to the Isolite retractor, along with the seamless teamwork between Dr. Sandhu and Melissa, the experience was far better than I had anticipated. What a difference proper technology makes when it is paired with a skilled and professional team. Part 3 May 12, 2026 Precision and Efficiency I returned to Borderview Family Dental for the final stage of my crown procedure. The clinic was busy, yet everything remained calm, organized, and efficient. Viktoriya and another front staff member (whose name I unfortunately did not catch) greeted me warmly, and Melissa quickly guided me to the treatment room. Melissa removed the temporary crown, and Dr. Sandhu cemented the permanent one with remarkable precision. The fit was perfect on the first attempt, with no anesthetic, drilling, filing, reshaping, or bite adjustment needed. I was out of the clinic in less than 30 minutes. Once again, the teamwork, precision, and professionalism were outstanding. Kudos to Dr. Sandhu, Melissa, Kirsten, Lisa, Gabby, Daryna, Viktoriya, and the entire Borderview Family Dental team. Cheers, Frazer
